I first released Jury Independence Illustrated online as a free PDF. I liked its quick rough style and thought about printing up actual copies to give away by hand.
I received a grant from Brooklyn Arts Council, and raised funds additional funds through Kickstarter.
In June 2011, I printed up 2000 booklets. After consulting with a lawyer to minimize my chances of being arrested for jury tampering, I began distribution outside the Division of Jurors in Brooklyn, NY—site of my own (inspiring) first jury duty stint.
